    Hi,

I need help to back up Band of brothers cos when I did the first disc using dvdshrink and Nero when I played it on my Xbox--and later my PS2--I found that the Warner Bros. splash screen (the Warner Bros. Logo with clouds in background) doesn't appear and the disc would either not respond or pop straight to the main menu. When I tried it on my DVD-ROM the Warner Bros. logo would stutter and it would freeze PowerDVD, I played it through my DVD-RW and the splash screen would work normally.

I burnt it to a DVD-R brand called Media Cache (if that helps).

I have no idea what's going on here.....can anyone help?

Is there a better way of fixing this problem? Is it possible to remove the Warner Bros. splash screen and make it go straight to the main menu?

  3. Do a search called Band of Brother or Gangs of New York. They will show you what you need to do. I hope this helps

Never heard of a disk brand called Media Cache. Usually these off-the-wall media brands are crap disks, like Princo or CMCMAG or something. I wouldn't be surprised if the problem is this media. Try something name-brand, like TDK or Maxell or Fuji. Don't use Memorex DVD-R. They are made by CMC.

Ok, I will try the more "reliable" brands like you said. I also updated the burner's firmware so hopefully that will make a difference (hopefully a positive one).

Wooo Hooo! Success I managed to get the Warner Bros. logo to appear.

I updated the burner's firmware and I burnt the DVD to a TDK DVDR47EA disc and it works perfectly now.

My confidence in buying a DVD burner has risen completely.

  7. Do movie rental places like Blockbuster have Band of Brothers to rent?

I dunno if that's the case in the USA or anywhere for that matter. I own the boxset and I now feel really happy that I was able to get a working backup from it.

Uh...where does he say he wants to copy it? He said he wants to rent it.
If I am wrong on this I will surely apologize, as you should for your insinuations.

let's just say renting and DVD Backup forums don't go together . If I wanted to know if a DVD was available for rent, I'd just call them

Jarvis may have been be a little OTT but we all get his point

As the poster himself replied with "sorry" in the post above yours, and several days earlier I might add, there was no reason for you to reply with your comment

I accept your apology for making that mistake. As for my comment it was obviously not a mistake since the poster indeed apologized for advocating piracy on this forum.

    Have a nice day.
