  1. I have yet to find a DVD5. Can someone list some of the popular DVDs that are DVD5s and can be burned without compression?

  2. I have only seen one in my short time (2 months) of burning. With all the extra features, animated menu's, special effects, 4 different language tracks, 5.1 digital sound ... it seems unlikely that you will see many.

You wont see many action or sci-fi movies on DVD5 due to special effects, etc, etc. I would suspect that older movies of a drama or comedy nature will be DVD5.

Again, I am rather new to all this, but from what I have seen, DVD5's are few and far between.

The Quick and the Dead - EXCELLENT directing

I backed up my brother's DVD movies before he moved out. Unfortunately these don't seem to play right. I used Decrypter to move the DVD to the harddrive and just burned the files as DVD-VIDEO. My player had problems accessing the menus on these movies, but my other DVD9 backups play fine (using the extra conversion/compression steps of course).

There are a few about but they seem to be mostly older movies that have been remastered to DVD and non-blockbuster movies. Most of the new ones have outtakes, behind the scenes etc. You will find some that are DVD5. DVDShrink or DVD2One can help you out with DVD9s though.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Most of the older movies out there are dvd5's. early 1990's and before.
i.e. Footloose, Fame, Adventures in Babysitting. I found were single layer dvd's.
