  4. For backing up/copying CDs, use Alcohol 120%, works with almost all copy protections. There's another thread right now in Computers w/ same subject. More info there...

I just want to make a comment on copy-protected CDs.

I don't have a problem with backing up my own purchased music CDs. I don't really need any special software to overcome or to beat a copy-protected CD.

My Sony CD burner overrides the copy-protection imposed by the record companies and they are wasting their money and their time depriving legitimate copying in the home. They are hitting their own customers with this crap.

As a result of this copy-protected practice, I am unable to play the music CD on some computers as unplayable.

In some DVD-ROMs/CD-ROMs, so it can’t read so therefore can’t play. I’ll send the CD back to the record store.

Normally, I only play them as an MP3 on any computer at home. From there, I can make a backup CD for the car by copying the MP3 into a music CD.

The only problem is the computer can’t see the track order of the original CD. The only way to fix this is amend the song title in each one as in alpha order like this, A, B, C and so on in front of the song name.

    Anyway, happy listening.
