"Application error: (17235) unable to detect an ASPI manager"
This occurs when i start it up, it appears about 3 times, and i clock OK to clear it each time. But when i use the drop-down to select my DVD drive, the message appears again. Thus, I cannot backup my movie. ergh.
Anybody know why this is?
Is there perhaps a better program I can use for creating DivX from DVD?
Thanks in advance,

Try installing/re-installing the ASPI drivers using the following TOOL: https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=24#comments
Then try your program, again.
From the GLOSSARY ...
ASPI
ASPI stands for Advanced SCSI Programming Interface. Originally developed by Adaptec. It is a software layer that enables programs to communicate with SCSI and ATAPI devices(CD and DVD Drives and other storage peripherals).
Even though your drives are probably not SCSI and are IDE (i.e. ATAPI), these are required. -

Did you rebboot after installing. That message appears when you install and don't reboot.. -
BTW -- Auto Gordian Knot is a great tool for DVD -> DivX/XviD, if your other doesn't pan out ...
