I have a problem playing SVCD in my standalone player. When it tries to play, it will play for about a second and then stop for about 2 seconds, then play for 1, stop for 2 etc. If I press fast forward until the picture does advance, then it will play fine after that.

Here is what I am using :

    Win ME
    ATI AIW 7500
    VirtualDub
    TMPENC Plus
    Nero 5.5

    APEX AD-3201

Does anyone have a solution, similar problem ? I can get SVCD to play but it would be nice to overcome this inconvenience.

    Thanks in advance !!

  2. CD-R or CD-RW media? What speed are you burning at? Try burning the file on CD-R media at 4X. Sometimes faster burns can give these players fits, especially on cheap media and CD-RW.

I've had similar problems w/ my AD-1100W on occassion. Always solved by burning at slower speeds.

Thanks for the reply !! I knew I forgot something, I am burning CD-RW @ 4x, I had heard that slower speeds do better. I will try a CD-R and see how it does. I was just experimenting with SVCD so I thought I would try CD-RW to make sure it would play.

    Thanks !!
