  1. hi peeps as a newbie i dont think im doing to bad capturing dv via firewire,sony dcrpc103,pinnacle studio 8,burning ok to lite on dvd no problemo just one thing it took over two hours to render 20 mins of video is this normal? any way of speeding up the process? any solutions greatly appreciated

    What are the specs of your computer? Were there many transitions in the video? Menus?

    You've answered your own question. Hours to render will be about right with an 800MHz processor. Set it going and go to bed.

    He's right, unfortunately, rendering is very CPU intensive, even short clips. I've rendered and burned DVDs with video ranging from 40 to 58 minutes, with full motion menus and transitions, and its taken Studio 8 about 2.5 hours for everything - that's on a P4 3.0GHz Northwood, 1GB of RAM and a 4x DVD burner.

    PS8 is not fastest in the world, but it takes time in any application
