  1. Hello,

Is there any difference between divx and avi.I've files with avi extension and play them with a divx player. Now, I'd like to burn these avi files on a standard cd and would like to play them on a dvd player which supports the divx format.

How shld i burn them into a cd using nero-6??Is it just by choosing standard cd-rom mode??

    Thanks for your time

Well, AVI is like a car, and DivX is like a Honda. So DivX 5.1 is like a Honda Civic.

If your DVD player supports, they only need to be on a disk, I believe.

  3. Just bacuse they will play on divx player (software) doesn't mean they are divx files!
AFAIK, divx player (software) will play any avi file you have the codec installed for.

Open the files in GSPOT to check which codec they were made with. Otherwise you may well end up burning something your DVD/Divx player can't handle.
