I have recently been experiencing problems with my DVD-RW Drive,

Problem No. 1: sometimes when I try to write a cd am I told that there I an error with the disk and i needs to be replaced so i replace it and it does the same again

Problem No. 2: the cd writing process is completed and when the cd is played in a cd player the cd plays as if it was severely scratched

Problem No. 3: if i try to write a data cd (photos, guitar tabs etc) it won't write giving the same problem as number 1,

This is becoming very annoying and also expensive due to cds being wasted.

is there anything that could be done to fix these problems?

One of the best pieces of advice I got from these forums is to simply clean the lens...I was having problems with DVD-RWs appearing not to be re-writable and it all cleared up when I cleaned the lens. Worth a try, I guess...
The future is much like the present, only longer.
