Possible to insert black-frame to MPEG 1/2 without reencode?

Is there any program that can use add 2 second black frame to the end of a MPEG2 file without recode?

I got some ready-to-burn SVCD MPEG2 file that were play perfectly but once I burn them into CD, they were all shorten about 1-2 second. Making it very annoy to watch.

So I'm thinking to add couple of seconds black frame at the end of the files. Hoping it will work.

You could create a couple of seconds of black frame in a video editor, encode to mpeg, then use Tmpgenc mpeg tools, merge and cut option, to append to the end of your existing mpeg.

Just try, it work but the problem remain.

Here's how I create the file:

-Captured 3 TV programs by TV card all in MJPEG-PCM avi files.
-Using Nandub crop out Ad etc., becomes about 20min each. (Since I want to put all 3 programs into one SVCD, so I cropped very "accurately sharp".)
-Using TMPGEnc Wizard convert them to SVCD 2Pass VBR@500/1500/2520 Joint-Stereo 224kbps.

Up to this point the files still play from start to end correctly and perfectly.

-Then create bin/cue by VCDEasy, SVCD 1.0.
-Burn to disc by Nero.


The SVCD created play smooth in DVD player but at the end of each chapter (3 chapters total) it finished about half second earier than it should be, sound and video both.

Even I merge 2 seconds black frame to it the problem still remain.


Is that relate how I cut out the Ad? But it play right.

Any clue?

The raw mpeg files play fine. You create the bin/cue in VCDEasy. Tray simply burning to disk as SVCD with Nero. SImply select SVCD format and drag/drop your 3 mpg files. Then burn. See if that fixes the problem.

Dunno really, just thinking of things to try.
