  1. Hey everyone,

When I try to burn disk one of the Back to the Future Trilogy, I get a few errors.

When I use DVD Decrypter, I get an error "I/O Device error, blah, blah" at about 49% or so. I get the option to ignore, abort, or cancel. If I click ignore, it tries to continue but wont get passed that error.

When I use DVD Shrink, it gets to about 66% and says "has encountered an unknown error" or something along those lines. Needless to say, it stops the process.

I can play the whole movie in my standalone, my PS2, and in my LG-4040 burner with no problems.

Any ideas? Oh, I tried doing a search for a program that can "test" the DVD for errors, but I cant find one. Is there such a beast?

    Thanks,

    LG

  2. is the dvd scratced or dirty??? what drd drive are u using?? mine is very very picky about the condition of the discs even if they play fine in a stand alone player and ps2which is a real pain in the ass, and that usually why i get these kind of errors

  3. I cleaned the disk and it doesnt "look" scratched. I dont see any scratches on it.

My standalone drive is a Panasonic RV-32 and my burner is an LG-4040. Everything plays fine in them. Havent made a coaster yet (well one PS2 game, but that was my fault).

This is really the first disk that I have had problems with.

Some DVDROMS and burners are very selective re reading discs. Maybe try another DVDROM and/or Smartripper ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
