  1. I'm trying to make a slideshow (DVD format) that will show ALL of the picture when viewed on a TV. The overscan of most TVs is cropping my pictures. Is there a way to make a slideshow that stays within the "safe" area within Vegas?

Try Tools, Video, Track Motion, and drag the resize box to a slightly smaller size.

You can set up a title safe preview within the Vegas preview window there is a hash like button above the preview window click on that and select safe area, the outer border is the over scan area and the inner border is the text title safe area...simple.

Crusty, does that only preview what will be lost, or can you use it to squash the movie to fit ?

Whats outside the outer border will be cropped it can vary a little either way if you want I have a PSD that I can e-mail you with the title safe areas so you can experiment. My suggestion is to do a test with a still image one at full 720x576 and the other within the title safe area to see how much you do actually loose.

  6. Thanks Twodogs, you asked my question for me. I know how to preview the safe area but I just wondered if there was a way to make the pictures show up within that area and not be cropped off. I know how to resize each picture (one at a time at least) but that would take a really long time even for a slideshow only being 50 pix. Thanks for both your help though!
