    Hi!
I have a file with ac3 audio and when I try to demux the file in VirtualDubMod nothing happens!
I press the demux-button and try to save the file but I do not get the demuxing going!

    Anyone care to help?

I don't use Virtualdubmod but I do use Virtualdub MPEG2. I wasn't able to work with AC3 audio until I installed the AC3 ACM Decompressor. Both can be found here.

I'm not really sure what you're asking now. What is it you want to do with Virtualdub MPEG2?

Sorry about that, was in a hurry!
I am trying convert a Xvid-avi file with ac3 sound to a DVD+R. I want to take out the audio and fix it so I can use it with TMPGenv DVD Author, I use this guide: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/186739.php!
The problem is that I cant seem to take out the audio in the file, but I know it`s there!.

Ok, cool. All you need to do is open up your file with Virtualdub MPEG2 and under File select "Save WAV" and name your file, however this isn't an actual WAV file if you have "Direct Stream Copy" selected under the Audio menu. Just change the file extension from .wav to .ac3 and try running that through TMPGenc.

If for some reason TMPGenc doesn't accept your .ac3 file than you may have to convert the ac3 audio to a true wav. Follow the same steps in Virtualdub MPEG2 except select "Full Processing Mode" under the Audio menu(instead of Direct Stream Copy). This will create a PCM wav file that should work fine with TMPGenc.

You need to run ac3fix, since VDUB corrutps the AC3 header thinking it's a wav.
