  1. I recently upgraded Dx to 9.0b and mmc 8.1 will no longer work and have been forced to use mmc 8.7 and although it works fine when starting it gives an error message about old drivers.I installed the new ones but on re-boot it insists on installing up to 5 un-known devices.I'm assuming I have to completly un-install all the ati software to get the new driver to work?anyone else have this issue?and can I revert to 8.1 without re-installing w2k to get rid of new Dx?(Dx upgrade is permanent I understand).I much prefer to use the software the card came with rather than looking for fixes that ultimately don't work or create other issues from those JOKERS at ati software control.

  3. I have w2k with ntfs file system(overcomes 6gb max file size Fat 32)
Well I didn't get 8.1 to work again but did get 8.7 to work perfectly
    here's how I did it

    un-install display driver,dvd encoder,and mmc 8.1
    download latest drivers etc,

    run
    wxp-w2k-7-95-031028m-011774c.exe
    Extract and install
    ATI/support/wxp-w2k-7-95-031028m-011774c
    DO NOT REBOOT
    run
    tv-capture-wdm-6-14-10-6217v1.exe
    Extract but do not install
    ATI/support/tv-capture-wdm-6-14-10-6217v1
    REBOOT

upon re-start it will look for un-known device browse to here
    ATI/support/tv-capture-wdm-6-14-10-6217v1
    REBOOT

    run
    control-panel-7-94-030917m-011434c.exe
    ATI/support/control-panel-7-94-030917m-011434c Choose REPAIR
    DO NOT REBOOT
    run
    mmc-8-7-0-0.exe
    ATI/support/mmc-8-7-0-0
    DO NOT REBOOT
    run
    atiCDwiz-v2-1.exe
    (verify cd,browse to ati cd)

    setupdvd.exe
(d/l or browse to previous location)
    REBOOT
It now works perfect.Despite all the issues I have had,NOT ONCE has it ever dropped a frame or gone out of sync.
Boy I'm so glad I bought the 7500 and put the money I saved by not buying the 8500 or higher(not a gamer), into the processor and a motherboard with a built in firewire and a raid controller and really fast memory.
