  1. I made an earlier post with a log file when I had a failed DVD burn using Nero:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=197331

Well, I found a small music DVD which is unencrypted and DVD-5 as well, so I decided to try DVD Decrypter to the hard drive, then writing the file using the same program because it doesn't need to be shrunk. I got an error message when this tried to burn as well:

What does this mean? I'm starting to think that the media isn't necessarily the culprit. Could it be software conflict or a setting issue? I had Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum installed, but uninstalled it and did a thorough cleaning of the registry before installing Nero and the other programs. I also have Clone CD on my system and did a successful burn using it on a CD-R, so the drive is working properly. Does this latest error message clarify what my problem is?

I get the same error message sometimes....but mine has LG 4040B rather than Sony DRU 510A... I've learned to ignore it....because I check all of my discs anyway before I send them to anybody.

  3. I tried clicking retry a few times and the same message popped up. Unfortunately, I can't ignore it because I'm burning expensive coasters.

I've got Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum, B's Recorder Gold(came with the LG), Musicmatch(hate it), DVDShrink , DVDDecrypter , IFOEdit , Ulead Movie Factory 2(suite edition) and TMPGEnc DVD Author on XP Pro. I use Ritek, BenQ, Philips and Primeon(Ritek GO4's) discs. I only noticed the "check condition" part of the the error message that looked the same as my error message....can't be 100% sure it is exactly the same error message. It happens ALOT but I have yet to burn a bad disc.
Not sure what to make of all that I just typed...maybe someone else can shed some light for JPowers ?

DVDDEcryptor 3.1.7 doesn't support buffer underrun technology in an NEC 1300a. I'm sure that the new .8 and other burners have the same problems.

    Burner and Decryptor version?

  6. hech54, you still have Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum on your machine? I could be wrong, but during my extensive search for answers to my problem I thought you mentioned using Nero? I think you were also the one who has a Dell (as I do) and kept the cable select jumpers on both drives? I'm just curious, and don't worry...I'm not stalking you. Your avatar made me remember you.

Gazorgan, my reader is an NEC DV-5700A, and DVD Decrypter 3.1.9.0 didn't recognize it, so I had to use my Sony DRU-510A to do the reading.

I think I found some possible solutions to my problem, though. I PM'd another forum member who had the same error message and a DRU-510A as well. It turned out to be a media problem for him, as others have suggested to me in my other post. Someone also noticed that my DMA setting is off, so I'm going to try this, too. Thanks for the help. I'll repost my success/failure so maybe someone else can learn from this.
