  1. Hi,

I am trying out the trial version of DVD2ONE. After using DVD Decrypter I go through and get DVD2ONE setup and when I click Start I get the "this program has preformed an illegal operation" and makes me shut down. The program closes and this happens everytime. I am wondering if this is a Win98SE problem?? Could it be something eles? I can't get into DVD2ONE's Forums because it said I be be a paid customer first. I can't find anywhere that says I must use XP.

    Thanks
    Matt

Transcoders choke on MPEG-1 files. Maybe the movie has MPEG-1 on it.

  3. The movie was Back to the Future #1. So I don't think Mpeg1 is the reason. I will try doing different one and hope the program runs.

    Thanks

It's time to move up to XP and make sure your ASPI layer is up to date. Better yet just use DVD Shrink which is free and rips and transcodes ( Shrinks ) if needed in one operation.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

You need to go look at "WIN32 vs WINNT". The 98 and XP are as different as they come.

I ran DVD2ONE on Win98 first edition and now 98ME without any problem.
The trial version of DVD2ONE allowed only 30 minute encode. If your "trial" version allows full copy it's probably illegal warez.

Hi there, I had a similar problem runing it in WinXP pro. They way I got it to work was to choose "movie only" in the "copy mode" option. It seems to work fine now. I've burned over 7 DVD+R by now.
    I hope it helps.
