When I capture in AVI format from camcorder (analog) , how can I determine that footage is interlace or deinterlace ?
And to set field order in TMPGEnc to convert to DVD (Pal)..
Top field first or Bottom field first.. which one?
And best resolution for capture AVI from camcorder ?
I can’t capture above 352x288 with VirtualVCR because video start to pause a bit and motion is not smooth (jumpy) when recording and play back on PC.
With VirtualDub and adobe premiere 6.5 , I can capture only 352x288 in Windows XP. But in W98 can above 352x288 …But same problem( motion is not smooth) .
Therefore I capture with Ulead dvd movieFactory in AVI format (352x576) with smooth motion. (But only problem is no drop frames counter )
My card is Prolink BT878P+
I hope you will help me ….Thanks..

1 Start here for your interlacing question: http://www.lukesvideo.com/
2. Field order is best determined using avisynth separatefields() and assumetff() commands (IMHO.
3. You'll get varying opinions on this. I capture at 352x480 and use that as my final resolution for MPEG-2 DVDs. -
Read some of my capture guides.
