  2. ...Satan. :P
I think they make their own media but Memorex uses INFODISC for it's CD-R's and they are crap.

I have been curious about the infodisc id myself.
    I purchased 25 pack of mitsumi -dvdr's
Some were infodisc and appeared to work very well.
Later in the pack the turned into an32 media.
These seemed to work okay as well.
The only reason I noticed a change was I happened to glance
at the recording side later in the pack and the dye didn't seem to be
as dark. Those turned out to be the an32,s.
I do wish there was a little more consistency in this media nonsense.

I haven't seen any DVD-Rs with Infodisc ID, only DVD+RWs. Are you sure you're not thinking of Infosmart? They are AFAIK two different companies:
    http://www.infodisc.com/
    http://www.infosmart.com.hk/

Infosmart and this AN company (http://www.anwelldigital.com/?) seem to have something in common as it's quite often DVD-Rs with mfr ID "INFOSMART01" and "AN3*" show up from the same brand or even in the same package.

    Color me red.
I went back and checked, and you are right.
    They are infosmart NOT infodisc.
My apologies for any confusion I may have caused.
Damn, time to trade in the synapses.
