  1. I'm wondering what would be the fastet and most efficient software for converting 12 minute cartoons in XVID format to DVD format. I'm hoping it wont be in excess of 40 minutes or so, I have tons of files I need to convert, all of them cartoons, all of them roughly 12 minutes long.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

  3. I'm looking for near archival quality, from my past experiences with (s)vcd's the quality isn't too great.

Personally, I'd go with SVCD as well. Mainly because I've seen SVCD encodes that rival any DVD, particularly with animation. However, being that 480x480 isn't an acceptable DVD resolution, I'd go with 352x480 with a variable bitrate in the 4000kb neighborhood. Again, if it were me I wouldn't even bother with DVD unless my XVID's were absolutely flawless. Otherwise I'd go with VCD. As for software, I would use TMPGenc. On my system a 12 minute VBR mpg would take about 30-45 minutes(while still using the pc for other things).
