    well if you are going to do dvd copying. most of them don't come with very good software for that. well except for burning software. so it shouldn't really matter if that is what you are looking for.

    I have an lG4040b. Software bundled with it not that great - I do not use it.
    For example, create a DVD backup using DVDshrink. Burn it using bundled software neoDVDplus5 - get lots of pixel effect errors in DVD player. Yes could be a media/player issue but . . . burn same image using nero v5 using same media and get no errors on playback (make sure use nero in wizard mode though - not techie mode - still have not figured this one out). If burn an "extras' DVD with lots of differnt VOB sequences neo will only burn one set of vob's and ignore the rest = junked disk. Nero no such issue.
