  1. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't dvdfab supposed to be freeware? Mine even says it's freeware when I open it up, but now I look it up in the tools section and it's 40.00 trialware, and on their site it's for sale for 40.00. Wha' happen????

If you follow the links to their site you will find a lite version that is free.
It doesn't show up on the main page but if you click the download menu a page opens up that shows an advanced feature pay version and a free lite version.

Technically the link here is partly wrong since they now seem to have 2 versions of the product.

I need to revise my statements about the DVDRhelp links. There is a statement mentionning the lite version of DVDFAB in the tools section of this site but I didn't see a direct link to it except to an older version of the program. The current lite version according to the DVDFAB site is 1.02. Anyway, following the link posted by DVDRhelp will take you to the DVDFAB site. They probably did not want this site to link directly to their software.

The creator of the original DVDFab (DVDToolbox???), stopped developing the software because at the time a new German law went into effect, which made it a crime to distribute such software. Fengtao (owner of DVD Region-Free, DVDIdle) bought the rights to the DVDFab software and as they say, "the rest is history."
