  1. hi,

Hope that someone could shed me some light here. You see i have a mpeg file. I tested it with AVICodec and found that the compression is using SVCD. I Played that file with powerdvd5 and it worked. But when i try to play it with Windows Media Player 9 Series, it stucked after 5 seconds. May someone pls tell me why? ANd how to resolve this prob...

Ok, these are the details of that file:

    File : 180 MB (0.0 B), duration: 0:00:00, type: MPG, 2 audio stream(s), quality: 90 %
    Video : 0.0 B, 9000 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 720*576 (16:9), MPG2 = MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD), Supported
    Audio : 0.0 B, 384 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 5 channels, 0x2000 = AC3 DVM [0x80], Supported

How do i make the file which is as big as 180MB to around 40-50MB...Please advice!

    Thanks all man...
    Warm Regards,
    Jacky

  2. Is this supposed to be a dvd compliant file or is it meant to be only SVCD?? The bitrate is what is making the file that big. Media player 9 sucks by the way(use 6.4). Anyway, see what mpeg2 codec you are using. Ligos causes these kinds of problems for me. Elecard plays back the files better but Ligos has better quality i think.

  3. thanks for the reply. You said "Anyway, see what mpeg2 codec you are using" but i don't know how. Care to tell me?

And those files are converted from a DVD. I didn't convert it, so i don't really know it myself. I just hope that i could make the file size smaller, do you have any idea of how i can do that?

And fren, i just went to microsoft.com to download the windows media player 6.4 for win2k server, but i couldn't find it. Do you know where?
    Warm Regards,
