ntsc/pal??

hi, i was hoping there is an easy solution to this!!!

Basically i have a few dvd's, on my comp which are ntsc, i can burn and play on my dvd player fine, only thing is, coz its ntsc i have to use a different connection, therefore picture isn't as good.
I have a sony davs500, it only has s-video out and the 3 wire out(red, white and yellow) I forgot the name for that.
When i play ntsc using s-video, pic goes black/white, so i have to use the other connection to watch it in colour and obviously it isn't the same pic quality.

So i was hoping if there was a way of converting the ntsc to pal.
I know one, re-encode, but surely there must be an easier way of doing it, is there?

You have to re-encode. The fps as well as aspect and other things have to be changed. No way around it.
