Does anyone know about the file requirements for settop DVD players, such as Lite-on, that support Divx and XviD files?
More specifically:
Do the movies have to be encoded in a particular HxW scale?
Will small movies open up to full screen?
Do they have to be in .avi containers? If so, can I encode them with a Mac?
Will it read multiple movies on a DVD?
I've been to the Lite-On site but didn't find too many details. Help with any of these questions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info. I've checked your link, by the way. Very helpful.
Does anyone know if any players have 3ivx/.MP4 support, or support for Divx 5 in .MP4 containers? Or can these movies (or even just the Divx/.MP4s) be easily converted to .avi with no significant loss of quality?
Thanks again. -
There are no set top players out yet that support .mp4 files... they all must be .avi.
Future firmware upgrades should enabled MP4 as it becomes more standard.
To the best of my knowledge, you cannot have DivX in a .mp4 container... Only MPEG-4 video. -
my own player(yamada) will play all manner of divx and xvid in many different sizes from 512x220 to 640x480 to 720x576 (full dvd resolution) and they all play at full screen. width .... much like a vcd will occupy the full screen even tho only half the res of a DVD..
Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.
