  1. need to rip audio tracks from vcd, fast, not slowly like playing the entire movie and then having it recorded on the line out of sound card

  2. You can use TMPGEnc, or any other .mpg encoder to demultiplex the video.

    In TMPGEnc, click File > MPEG Tools > Simple Demultiplex. Pick the type of stream you want, i.e. MPEG 1 System (automatic) for VCD and put the video file in the Input area, then hit "Run". The result will be two files, one a M2V (video) file and a MP2 file, which is the audio. Then process the audio file however you want.

  3. Yes. And u can forget about the M2V file if u only need the audio (ie, just blank it off). Best still, this demultiplex only takes just a short time (minutes or less), so don't think that your computer has freezed up...

    I use Winamp to convert the MP2 into wav (also very fast), then burn to CD (45 minutes at 2X). And it works slick in my car player...

    PS. Oh ya, of course b4 u do anything u need to copy the *.dat file(s) of the VCD into yr HDD first
