  1. I've followed the steps outlined here in the forum to uninstall SVCD2DVD and uninstall .net, followed by a re-install of .net 1.0, .net 1.1 and finally SVCD2DVD to resolve the runtime error on startup of SVCD2DVD. It's still not working.

I've just tried the above procedure twice, both times running RegCleaner to remove any erroneous registry entries before starting the re-install. I've also completely erased any remaining files left by the uninstall process. Nothing is working.

If I just run SVCD2DVDMPG, it seems to run fine. Once I try to install my registered copy of SVCD2DVD, the program bombs-out on startup with the common runtime language error. I even went so far as to load the MS .net 1.1 SDK in the hopes of running a debug on the program and that won't even launch properly to debug the program.

Any further thoughts on what I need to do get SVCD2DVD running? I'm running on WinXP Pro, AMD Athlon XP 2100+ CPU, Asus A7V333 mobo, with 1 GB of RAM. I'm totally stumped why SVCD2DVD will not work.

  3. Nope.........didn't help. I found the file you were referring to and copied into the SVCD2DVD directory and I'm still getting the runtime language error on starting the program.

The ironic thing is that the free-ware version, SVCD2DVDMPG works just fine. Something is screwy with SVCD2DVD.

I have been unable to replicate your error. However can you try the following:

Uninstall SVCD2DVD (keep the reg.xml file in the SVCD2DVD folder)
Install an older version: email me with your serial number & i will send it.
    Run that.
    Uninstall it.
Reinstall the new version & register.

It has worked for another user.

    Regards,

This has been resolved. the msi in the user area no longer causes this error. Therefore is you are having this issue redownload the file.

  6. Thanks! This new download seems to have done the trick! I've been able to open SVCD2DVD for the first time and get to the registration screen.

Now I'm just waiting for the registration code so I can continue working with the program!

    Thanks for all your help!
