Hi All, Please forgive me if I am asking a very basic question but I will tell you upfront I am a VERY mature-age person so all replies need to be in a VERY basic format.
I recently purchased a Sanyo Xacti Video Camera which takes still photos at the same time as you take movies. I want to burn the movies onto a DVD so that I can send the movies to friends to play in their DVD players and view it on their TV.
I have the latest NERO burning program and a NEC DVD burner but I cannot find any program to convert the MPEG4 files into a suitable medium for burning a DVD.
Can someone please advise me, where to firstly locate a suitable conversion program and then step-by-step, how to use that program.
I have spent days searching the net and downloaded a million programs (well it seems like that) but all to no avail. I do hope there is someone out there who is willing to help me.
many thanks![]()

Mpeg4 files can be converted to DVD but to make sure that you will end up with a compliant DVD you need to know certain things about your existing video.
On the left side of the main page of this site you will find a "tool" section. Find a free program called "gspot" and install it. (edited: or just click on the red link)
Run the program and open your video with it. This small program will reveal a lot of valuable information about the video and audio codecs used and also the resolution (framesize) of your currrent video. Post that information here and we'll take it from there.
Also on the left you will see a section for "guides". If you click on the topic a section will open up where you can choose to see guides for converting avi to DVD. There are many ways to do this and not all tools are free but sometimes demo programs are available. Reading those and getting the needed programs is a good start.
