  1. the question is can i fit 2 700MB movie files onto a dvd?

i converted the two files using TMPGenc and i set the size of the file output to 48% for each file, each ended up being just over 2 gigs each. but when i went to convert both to a video_ts file the total output came out to over 5 gigs.

so now is there neway to fit that video_ts file onto a dvd disk? or am i gonna have to start from scratch again? i would just like to know before i delete all the work that took so long to do, any help is appreciated. thanks

  4. When I backup my vhs tapes to dvd and I want two movies on one dvd I author both mpegs in TMPGEnc DVD Author and ignore the warning about the file size being to big when I save it. Then I use DVDShrink to reduce the file size to fit on one dvd.

And what authoring app did you use for that. Some will convert the audio to uncompressed PCM. increasing the file size. You want to keep the compressed mp2 audio in the original mpeg file.

As suggested, you can use DVDshrink. But in the future you probably want to look more closley at your process if you want to take full advantage of the DVD medium.
