Ok, this is a very, very basic question, so basic I'm embarrassed to post it anywhere but on "off topic".
Is it ok to stack (ie, in a spindle) pre-recorded DVDs?
My searches of the net for "DVD handling" only seem to turn up the standard "always keep in original package/sleeve" type answers.
However, CD-Rs and DVD-Rs come stacked. So what's the problem?
Is it that pre-recorded discs have artwork/pictures on one side, which might damage the underside of the disk on top?
Or, is this just the manufacturers being too cautious in their advice?
To save shelf space, I want to move a lot of my DVDs onto spindles.
Is this a mistake?
Thanks!

Just don't use them for bowling, and it'll be fine.
Easier to scratch in a spindle, but just take care of it.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
