Hi, Im new to maestro and was wondering how to create a motion menu. I've tried a couple of ways and I cant seem to get it right.. anyways my setup is like this:
First play: Main Menu (my motion clip)
Title Menu: Main Menu 2 (the "actual" menu. static image)
Everytime I place it in a dvd player, it plays the first play and then it stays on the last frame (of the motion clip). I want it to jump from first to title.. any idea?
Thanks in advance...

Dude! don't think that is a stupid newbie question, I used Meastro almost two years ago now and it was hard as hell to do anything aside from a simple author, If I went into the program again I may be able to help you but I don't feel that it's even worth your while anymore, If I were you I would spend some time researching some more up to date and intuitive author programs, they are out there but when it comes to movie back up this is an unnecissary step now so the only reason you even need a program like that now is if you are authoring video from a capture card! honestly save yourself the headache.

Try TMPEnc DVD Author, you may find it far easier also it has some pretty easy preset templates to work with, I don't necessarily like the way they look but they are easy.

I guess that if you want to author stuff like motion menus, you need a better app than tmpg dvd author (which is btw a very good tool for fast and easy dvd authoring, but lacks flexibility)
DVD Maestro is a very powerfull authoring app and yet very easy to use.
You just need to read the manual...
"stupid newbie", go to connection window to setup actions between menus and movies, and PLEASE, read manual... -
ive tried tmpenc dvd author before but there was certain things that I wanted that it couldnt do + when it compiled the dvd, it gave me a really jerky clip towards the end.

In Maestro what you need to do is as an end action for your first play motion menu is set a time out. Menu --> playback control tab --> end state, set the time as 0 sec. Then when you are making your connections for navigation make menu1's timeout linked to menu2
I do this a lot when I do a capture that I plan on burning to DVD-R
Maestro is a great program, but you must make sure you do EVERYTHING
cause it doesn't link or "tell" you you've made a mistake till after you,ve finished compiling your project
Good-Luck"The software said Win XP or better, so I Installed Linux" -
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! lpn1160.. I did what you said and it works...
thanks again.
