There was a 1 year and a forever download. A license for 1 year is cheaper then a forever license. But i think you can't get that anymore..

The hard way. Do all the steps the program does by hand. Ripping the mpg out of the bin with vcdgear, demultiplexing with tmpgenc, encoding the audio with besweet, multiplex with tmpgenc and create a dvd with ifoedit. It will cost your nothing but a hell of a lot of time.

4 x 1.4 = 5.6 GB that won't fit on 1 DVD and also remember you need to reencode the audio which makes the file a bit bigger. So you can only fit 3 movies on there.

Finaly don't start about downloading and irc here. When you do that you are doing illegal stuff and you CAN'T talk about that here. So be warned else you might get banned form this forum.

I have have never used SVCD2DVD - however last night I had an important reason to encode a PAL SVCD into DVD compatable MPEG. No tool I had at my disposal would touch it. TEMPENC, dumuxed - Premiere pro or vegas. No way at all.

However it was a success. Nero Express did it without a grumble.

Important not SVCD2DVD doesn't reencode to a DVD compatable MPEG it tricks players into excepting the SVCD MPEG as a DVD compatable MPEG. By changing the audio from 44.1 kHZ to 48 kHz but leaves the video as it was. So you don't loose the quality of your image.

Nero Express encodes the complete MPEG to DVD MPEG which makes it much bigger and gives you less quality.

    100% for me.....
Depends on what you want to do really, spend a lot of time with various programs or a little time with one.

Depends on what you want. Do you want to burn DVDs from you home movies in .avi in dvd quality then this isn't your program.

If you want to burn your .mpg home movies without losing quality on dvd then is your program. If you got very much time to spare, don't get frustrated easaly and don't want to spend money then you could always try the hard way method. But those 20 bucks will save you a lot of time and frustration..

Nero Express is the short and simple version of the Nero Burning program. Nero Vision Express is the authoring program which does the re-encoding to DVD MPEG.

    Good to distinguish between them..
