  1. hi

I'm new to the capture of video, etc. I've looked around the how to section,
but can't seem to find all my answers!

I want to do two things, capture video to cd, and capture from cam to cd.
is a tv in card sufficient for the capture of video, does the tv card capture
frames at a set rate, or does this depend on the card-price? I have seen some of the software available on the forum, which ones are the best and least hassel, and second to capture to cd from my cam, this I prosume from the forum is a firewire card and cable, I have studio 8 pinnicale so will this do the job?

sorry about the simple questions, but any advice will help!

    many thanks

I am so sorry, wrong link. If your camera has pass through, you only need a fire wire card. If your camera does not, then try to get a card that has at least S-video. Try to do DV capture since it is the best so far. DVIO is the easist to use, and DV capturing is uniform across the board.

You will need to go to the Capture section and browse the guides there. Try and find a guide that looks do-able for you, and software you can afford. Also, check to see if the software you like is freeware, or has a trial period, so you can see if you like it before you buy it.

Unless you have a capture card that s-video could be for video out, not in.
