Hi, I'm trying to burn a SuperVCD. I encoded the movie with TMPEG, about 80 min. long. I load up the movie in Nero for burning, it says 79:45 min. When I try to burn it, Nero says that the CDR does not have enough room for that. I'm sure I use a 80 min. CDR. Does anyone know what's going on, or how I can fix that without encoding the movie again for a gruelling 16 hours for the 6th time. Any help would be much appreciated=) Thanks!

Dude... 80min CDRs are referring to standard AUDIO CDs. 80 minutes of video, especially SVCD will take much more than that. 80min CDRs can hold 700mb of data. You will be lucky if you fit your video on two 80min CDRs. Stranger things have happened though. Good luck.

Yeah, with a standard vcd burn you can fit 74min on a regular cd or 80 on a 80min cd, but with svcd it depends on the bitrate/size of file not on time. You can likely fit the movie on 2 discs. Split the file and try burning the first part.

I have found out that on a 700 MB CD-R you can fit upto 780MB MPEG movie without over burning and you can overburn a 80min. CD-R to 81min. and 30 seconds safely, I have done it without a problem. On the new 850MB CD-R's I have fit a 1025MB MPEG2 Movie on it without a problem also. to fit a 79min. 45 sce. MPEG, you may need to overburn a 80min. CD-R to 81min. and you will need NERO 5.5 for this and go set up the overburn in the advance tab.

The MPEG SVCD file is about 1 gig plus.
I burned it into vcd too, it's less than a gig. But, that one was 82 min. couldn't get it into one CDR either.
I didn't know that 80 min. CDR are referring to standard AUDIO CD only. I thought it would be the same for video. Thanks for pointing that out.
My first VCD works out real good. The quality isn't too bad when I play on a low resolution TV. I was trying to burn the SVCD to see if there is any different. If I were to decrease the bitrate from SVCD, i might as well burn a VCD instead? That's gonna be another long a$$ trial and error to figure out the quality.
I should have said SVCD-MPEG2-79min.47sec-1075 Mb,I think I'll try to overburn it with my Nero 5.5. What the heck, I can use another coaster on my desk.
Thanks for the advices, guys!=) -
Well, contrary to a lot of posts and replies on this subject... size DOES matter! You can fit 740MB on a 74min. CD and 800MB on an 80min. CD. Depending on the CD manufacturer you might be able to squeeze a few MB's more onto the CD, but that's it. If your file is 1GB it WILL NOT fit onto an 80min. CD, even overburning it!
