Ive been encountering a number of music dvds that have HUGE lpcm
audio on them, some upto 1.5gig!

Do any transcoders eg. InstantCopy,Nero Recode, dvdshrink etc.
have any audio compression ? or are any of them planning
to do so in future ?

    Thanks
P.S. (ive successfully compressed lpcm to ac-3 and mpeg layer2 but ive had to
reauthor the entire dvd with these new vob. time consuming)

    Not that I've seen.

Personally I don't see much reason for it, though there would be a time or two I would have been helpful to have one that could automaticly change PCM to AC3 a few months ago.

LPCM is used on music DVVD's because of it's higher quality sound. LPCM(wav) is the format used by music CD's

    At this time, no.

It's a bummer, but I guess it just isn't common enough of a need.
