  1. I am creating my first DVD (been doing (S)VCDs for awhile) and I am having some compatibility problems with set top DVD players.

I have abandoned the software that came bundled with my Sony DRU-510A (Sonic MyDVD) and I am using DVDLab. I have created a DVD with three movies and one slide show. The project is a Full-D1, but all of the movies are Half-D1. I encoded and demuxed the MPEG-2 videos with TMPGEnc 2.5 (the latest release) at 352x480 with a VBR of 2400 and standard NTSC GOPs. The slide show was created within DVDLab with JPEG files that I manually resized to fit the dimensions of the project. These are all presented from one single, still menu. It is a very simple project, all around. I am using DVD-R media (don't know the brand.)

Here's the problem: I can load this DVD on my PC and play all content without problems, with two different DVD drives and using WinDVD 4. But, when I try to use the DVD in my set top boxes, I can only play the first two movies. The third movie and the slide show will not play. The set top boxes are a Sharp DV-710 and a Philips 724. I researched these players in the 'DVD-Players' section, and I expected problems with the Sharp, but not the Philips.

I have tried to be as complete as I can in the details of my situation, but I am sure that I might have left out some important detail. Any advice would be appreciated. The parents of the football team are getting impatient for the video for the November tournament.

I noticed you can burn in UDF 1.02 in Nero. May be you can in DVDLab as well? I do jknow it helps your DVDs to play in older model DVD players.
    Hello.

  3. I don't have nero. In fact, at this moment, I don't have a good general purpose burner software (don't ask.) I can burn through DVDLab and DVD Decrypter if I had DVDLab make an image. I have done some searching on UDF version and have not found a lot of information. Any suggestions?

BTW, every DVD backup that I make with DVD2SVCD and burn with DVDLab works fine, if that helps.
