  1. Just got it today, from what ive read before ordering it, its pretty much plug and play and your set to go.. But it doesnt seem quite as simple. I plugged it in booted up my pc and nothing popped up recognizing it, cant find it in device manager or anything. So i even tried hooking my camera up to it.. I loaded up Pinnacle Studio 8 hooked up the Red, yellow and white cables to the card and set my camera to play and even then no detection... Just curious what else i need to do, because thus far i feel i wasted my money... Please help!!!!!!

    I don't have the 50, but the 100

yeah, I don't know exactly whta your issue is, but what is your OS system ??

If you have Windows 98 (gold) like me, you'll probabably need a driver to
access the DV port. I don't remember what the driver name is on my sys
but I remember it ending w/ an .sys or something. Anyways..

    Try this..

when you're ready, observe your pc monitor, as you plug in your FW card
to your DV cam and then unplug it. See if your mouse blinks for a moment.
If it does, it means you have the drivers installed. If nothing happens, then
you don't have any drivers installed, and as such, your device is not being
    recignised.

Are you using Windows XP with SP1 installed?

There are known problems with using the ADVC-50 with this...

Or perhaps your using a Dell PC?

If either of these are the case, Canopus knows about the problems..

There are still no guaranteed solutions.

  5. you might check this list and see if your motherboard is there.
I had an ADVC1394 and it would not work on an Nforce2 motherboard.
Thier tech support told me their products work best on Intel boards.

Well first off ... from what your profile says ... you dont have a computer.

Oh ... wait ... you haven't filled in the info for us ... but somehow you want us to know what kind of computer you have ... hmmm ... very difficult.

Well ... check my profile ... I have the Canopus ADVC 50 ... no problems with it. I have it plugged into PCI slot.

Do you have a firewire card also plugged in ?? I dont see anything mentioned.

Also ... sometimes with my system ... my ADVC 50 wont display.

Cure is to shut down and restart up ... a simple reboot/restart wont work. I have to actually shut down the computer. Count to 30 ... hit the power on button.
