When watching cable and broadcast television on my computer through the ATI All In Wonder 9000 Pro; there are 2 not quite visible translucent lines about 2 inches apart scrolling up the television screen.

These lines are also visible when capturing as well.

This problem is visible on MOST broadcast and cable channels; although the problem does NOT exist on a few channels.

WHAT is CAUSING this to happen; then, HOW do we FIX the problem?

    Thanks for any help.

Sounds like a ground loop hum bar. Do a search in the capturing forum for ground loop or hum and my user name.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

Thanks for your advice ..I did some research regarding Ground Loop Hum Bars... and; at this point.. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what's causing my problem. Now; the problem is how to eliminate this pesky irritation.

Some websites recommend using a shorter cable between the cable wall outlet, and the computer. Others have suggested plugging the monitor into another different power strip than the computer is plugged into; that's also plugged into a different electrical wall outlet.

Then again; I might even have to break down, and go get a Ground Loop Hum Bar filter. The problem is that those babies can cost anywhere from $60.00 to $100.00; that's serious money; 'specially after Christmas.

Oh well.. Life is never easy.

Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks again !~

It's a long-shot, but try either FM TRAP or DC BLOCK (coax filters) from the local Radio Shack. They are like $2 each at most. Also, use RG6 cable, not that cheap RG59, and make sure it is thick insulated and gold plated. It may just be noise on a bad wire.
