this is a right pain cus i went to use the program and i find that now i cant use it until i get this stupid key.....been waiting a couple of hours now

also , i dunno if i`m right in thinking this but if i upgrade or build a new pc more than twice i wont be able to use svcd2dvd cus i wont be able to get a new key.

i dont think this is right ,we should be able to run it on any pc, afterall i have payed for the program

I realize that there are cracked copies of SVCD2DVD all over the place but let's get real. This new machine registration will be cracked too in time. All it does is inconvenience the users who paid for it like myself.

So what do I do now? Leave the reg running 24/7 till I get the key? If I close it I'll have to start the process all over again.

Come to think of it, the new cracked version will probably be available before us paying users get our key. Oh the irony of it all.

spend 10 minutes setting up a dvd burn and to my surprise was cut off to get a new version with some new registration,this is so dum and confusing,click here click here and don't close for how long ,plus i don't know if i am doing this the right way.What a Mess!,

Get this straight Dick Wad. After my first post I did register. However new members are NOT allowed to post for a day. Therefore I had to post as a GUEST.

And I too was in a middle of a conversion when that stupid message popped up and ended the burn. That's a class act if I must say.

There's a real good chance that someone will crack this new security feature, post it to usenet, and I should be able to download and install it before I get my LEGAL reg. key. That would be sad, if it weren't so damned annoying.

I can't believe that the author would cripple your existing version then go on vacation while you wait for a key to use the new version.

What kind of crap is that? He should have automated the sending of the key or at the least be at his computer.

I have no problem with trying to protect your software but not at the expense of your paying customers.

I wouldn't mind waiting a day for the reg key. Hell, I can find other things to do. But having to wait here like an idiot with this program running.... monitoring my own actions so as to not (dread the thought!) accidentally close it down is a SERIOUS inconsideration!

I agree with the idea that someone will have a crack posted somewhere in short time. It nearly scares me to think about what the NEXT round of security features might be!

What gives with the message we all got about having to upgrade in the first place? Maybe I'm wrong on this but it does seem that the program 'called home'.

Sounds an awful lot like Spyware to me.

This guy is starting to give so called 'legitimate' software a bad name. Kinda reminds me of last years Turbo Tax revolt by it's users. Look it up if you don't know what I am talking about.

I just tried that and it didnt work. Stupid upgrade message popped up even when im offline. Let me know if you got it to work, I might try that again. ARGH!!!!! I just bought some blank DVD disc too man. I want to watch my Naruto on my Stand Alone DVD player!!! AHH!!

There's away around this? I'd like to just ignore the holy-hell out of this new version and just reinstall the previous (hassle-free) version, which btw was working JUST F'N FINE!

If there's a way to do that, what is it? lol. I felt like program took control just there, and kindda MADE me d/l the new version.

I've e-mailed 3 times. Each one becoming steadily more hostile. No reply.

Can someone help me understand this?

Reg # 1) Waited 20 minutes, had to reboot. Oh well... off to...
Reg # 2) PC froze. Was forced to reset. So now I'm on...
Reg #3) Did I just blow thru my 2 "legal" registrations because of the evil wait time that (apparently) needs to be committed to acquiring it?

The way it seems to me is, that now NEITHER of my registrations will work!

I MIGHT have a reg. # by 2015... if at all.

Anyone have a theory?

This is a forum for who need help with real problem,makes me ashamed to have people like you bashing the regular posters cause you cant wait more than a day for things to sort more less 10 minutes.

I've already mentioned I wouldn't mind waiting a day or whatever it takes; the problem is in the fact that I need to keep the program RUNNING until someone gets around to sending me a reg. key.

Some folks use their PC's for work as well as play. Does that mean that if I need to keep this program running for 3 days I won't be able to work? No. Probably not. It means I may need to buy the program again, wait even LONGER for a reg key or abandon it all together.

I'd say that's a real problem. Anything where money is involved IS a problem... and what's that old saying? "Time IS money!"

This is completely inexcusable.

This is the one of the most irresponsible thing I've ever seen a software developer do. I paid for a product that I now cannot use. How can I trust that there aren't other timebombs in your program. Do you have any respect at all for those of us who PAID for your program?

There is also a serious question of legaility in all this, since Chrissyboy has changed the terms of sale long after the sale occurred. Of course, I seiously doubt Chrissyboy cares. His actions prove he doesn't give a damn about his customers.

I'm sure your new protection scheme will be cracked soon enough. And I for one now believe you deserve it.


Congradulations, Chrissyboy. You've just pissed away all the goodwill you've builtup here. I also doubt anyone will recommend your product anymore. After all, why should anyone buy it when you can take it away whenever you feel like it. Either accpet the unfortunate reality of warez and cracks, or just hang it up for good.

No, there was no "phone home". I have a proxy and firewall that monitor all outgoing connnections. There were no conections to SVCD2DVD.com when my copy destoryed itself.

This was most likely a timebomb planted in the last update. The bomb was set to go off today.

I agree. I will definately be recommending to everyone I know to stay away from this product. Why buy from someone that pulls stunts like this?

On the bright side, maybe by tomorrow a crack for the new version will be out, and we can all start using what we paid for again.

Since this forum allows guest posts, it's easy to make the mistake of posting without logging in first. I've done it on several occasions.

Besides, you should judge posts on the merit of what they say, not on what nym they post under.
