Hi all
Does anyone know of an alternative for the god awful software that comes with the ADS USB 2.0 capture box? I usually transfer to my main machine with the ATI AIW as per LordSmurf.com guides (works great!) but some VHS (even with Sima SCC in line) wont transfer properly. Is there other capture software that recognizes USB 2.0 devices?
Thanks!

Maybe it would help if you listed which software you feel is so terrible. All of it? What?

No, not "naturally." In my opinion, Cap Wizard "bites the left one" as well, but I think Video Studio 7 does a pretty good job, once you edit the HerzCap.ini file to give you frame loss data.

Ok, now you lost me.
I didn't bother to install anything but capwiz as I use Vegas 4.0 and DVD Architect to edit/author. I really don't need to edit, I just want to capture interlaced. I was just wondering if there was other software to use for capturing that would work with a USB interface. Vegas does not.
Thanks for the help. -
Ulead's DVD MovieFactory and DVD Workshop can capture from the ADS Instant DVD device as well.

The ADS usb Instant Dvd-2 comes bundled with thier own capwiz which only captures, plus Ulead MovieFacory-2 and VideoStudio 7se which capture, edit and burn. While the software may not meet the needs of advanced users, they work great for us normal users.
Why bash something you did not even install much less try ???
As far as I know they are the only software that will capture form the device. Ulead is supposed to working on a plug-in to enable all thier software to be compatable -
