I have purchased the following items:
2.4GHrtz Pentium 4 533FSB (Single Processor)
512MB of PC2700 RAM
1 80GB EIDE 7200RPM Hard drive for OS
1 80GB SATA 7200RPM Hard drive for Data
1 200GB SATA 7200RPM Hard Drive for Data
ATI ALL-In-Wonder 8500DV Capture card
Windows XP SP1 Home Edition
Adobe Premiere 6.5
Ulead 3D Studio
Ulead Video Studio 7.0
DVD Lab 1.1 (Cool software but menus/submenus do not line up in 1/2 D1 resolution)
Samsung DV Camcorder
Kodak Digital Camera
Thinking about buying Adobe Encore DVD (undecided yet)
Sony DRU510 DVD Recorder
My goals:
1. Convert my VHS home movies onto DVD
2. Cut, Clip, Edit, and get into some 3d Graphics
3. Put all final movies on DVD
4. I would like to also use 1/2 D1 (352x480) resolutions for home movies
because I can lower the bitrate to 4800 and get much better video results then full D1 (720x480) at these lower bitrates. I had problems with different DVD software where menus and submenus do not line up correctly in the 1/2 D1 resolutions.
I am thinking that because of the time wasted in rendering some of my home movies that it would be a better investment to just go ahead and buy a better card and/or software that can render in real time. I want speed, and I want better software. One thing I have learned is that I have wasted a lot of time and money finding out which software/hardware does the best job and then some of these do not work together. I am just about ready to buy two more hard drives for my removable bay and load up one for Video Capturing, one DVD burning, and then reload my current OS for only capturing to help elimate some of the conflicts.
I am also willing to buy new equipment and software and this is why I am writing on this site. I do not prefer to build a new computer but if you feel it is a must then I will. I do want a real time capture card that can render my video in real time with transitions, effects, etc. I an thinking about buying hardware/software from Pinnacle Sytems and I am tired of
experimenting, give me good info on which Pinnacle software/hardware I should buy and I will. Tell me how my system should be setup and I will reload it fresh. Tell me which software I should avoid to eliminate problems. If anyone can help me with this info it would be greatly appreciated. Or if there is some other software/hardware that you would recommend that would be great too.
Thank you
