  2. Exactly what difficulty are you having? Are you saying that B's CLiP program doesn't recognize DVD-RAM? Frankly, I don't think it should.

After installing the DVD-RAM driver, Windows XP itself should automatically recognize a DVD-RAM as a removable disk drive. You should be able to read and write to it using the ordinary WinXP operations, roughly as if the DVD-RAM were an enormous floppy. Are you saying that you cannot do this successfully? What is happening instead? Frankly, if you have CLiP installed, it might actually be the problem!

Are you able to read the DVD-RAM but not write to it? Does WinXP falsely claim that the DVD-RAM is write-protected?

  3. yea it saids its write protected. b clip wont format it because it doesnt recognize it as a valid disc. i have formatted the dvd ram with xp's original formatter and the dvd ram driver that came with it. both do not work and give me the same error

  4. What you're describing does sound similar to what happened to me on one of my computers. In my case, as you may have read, the culprit was DirectCD, the packet-writing portion of Easy CD Creator. That's why I had to disable or delete the two .sys files you mentioned.

I can only suspect that perhaps you are seeing an equivalent conflict from CLiP, which is B's packet-writing software. In that case, you might have to (a) uninstall CLiP, and perhaps (b) disable or delete any UDF reader files it has left behind. But I'm just guessing.

  6. Man, I don't want to cramp your style, but try to type in a real language when your trying to get technical help. If we cant understand the yabb dabba doo lingo its kind of hard to tell whats going on.

So did you disable windows XP capability to write CDs on the drive, because XP cant use DVD-RAM if that setting is turned on.
