If I want to burn a compiled DVD in Nero just by dragging the vobs and whatnot to the video folder, how can I add more files?
I just mean extra files like mp3s, images, or other things that I don't expect to actually play in a DVD player--just something accessible from a PC with a DVD-ROM. Can I just create another separate folder on the DVD to store that in or will it affect playback of the actual DVD?

You can add whatever file and folders you want to a DVD and burn with Nero. You just need to use UDF mode. This is the same filesystem as used for DVD Video, but you must create your own VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, Nero does not do this for you in this mode, nor does it do any sort of validation. Also, make sure the extra files are not in the VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS filders.
