Hello and Happy New Year to you all

I am experimenting w/ IFOedit, and have ben quite successful at it.
However, it only allows for one source muxing.

I'd like to mux/author more than one source. For example, I may have a
bunch of .mpg files that I want to test my encodes on in DVD format w/ my
    new OptoRite writer.

Is there another way I can do this, or can I trick or do segmented IFOedit
    products ??

Basically, I need to dump say, 10 or so .mpg clips onto a DVDR and burn
for testing on my Apex AD-1500.

I'm under Windows 98 gold, and have latest drivers/apps loaded.
Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide :P

Hi guys.. Oh yeah.. and Happy New Years to you all, again.. hehe

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I am still in need of this
request. I figure some users may have picked up a few new tricks
in the things of ifoEdit tips.

So, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to author or compile
several MPEG (*.mpg) clips to a VOB or VOB's without using other
apps.., but just using infoEdit ??

(Its funny.. how nothing has changed in the original first post.
All the items [software/hardware and OS] are the same)

    Thanks again,

  3. Happy New Year vhelp,
AFAIK you can only author one video track with IfoEdit.I would use TDA,etc.

    @ MOVIEGEEK

After two days (I mean) years, someone has responded

Anyways. I would love to use TDA, but the min system requirements
is WIN98SE and mine is just a hair too low, and won't install.
I tried it two years ago, when I discovered this. That was why
(or party why) I went with ifoEdit. Plus, I learnt (through usage)
that ifoEdit does not mess up the aspect ratio of one's source, and
that was a big plus for me back then, because I was a widescreen
aspect ratio junky, and still am.

    Thanks again for the response.

    Cheers,

    Welll...

There's the opensource DVD Author & a couple of optional GUIs. It should run on about anything I imagine.

There is also the option of merging clips before Ifoedit. There are several joiners, many command-line I think, that should still be available. Then just inserting one file.

    vhelp,

IfoEdit v0.96 beta versions will allow you to add multiple mpegs to a single titleset.

due to the 4GB filesize limitations of win98 if i was you i would seriously consider an upgrade to winxp .. it doesn't cost huge sums and the advantages make it well worth it ... ie. no filesize limit (providing you use ntfs file system and not fat32), can use more ram (win98 doesn't recognise anything over 512mb.. ie if you have 1gb ram installed win98 will only use 512 mb of it ... the other 512 is not used and is therefore pointless)) plus ... you can use apps such as TDA along with many others that don't run on win98.

Problem is, vcdhelp does not keep cronological versions.., only
    the latest ones

The one posted is for v0.971

I have v0.95 and v0.970 only. I used to have v0.96 but if memory
recalls, it was crashing my WIN98 system every time I started it
up. Don't know if it was just a bad D/L, but I gave up on it too
easy, and went back down to v0.95 (that is the most stable ver
I have been working with ever since)

Just to recap what I am looking for..

I have TWO purposes in using ifoEdit:

** take multiple .MPG files and "merge" (author) them into *ONE* vob file.
** take multiple .MPG files, and author to *MULTIPLE* vob files.

When I say "multiple", I mean, just like they do in DVD movies,
where you see a bunch of vob files and things. So, if I have say,
5 .mpg files, I would like to have 5 vob files.. hence, "multiple"

But, can I do *both* inside ifoEdit, that is the question ?

    Thanks guys,

Oh.. by the way (case anyone gets confused) that pic above is
    sort of misleading.

Regarding the "Add Title" button ...

In my stable version v0.95 that button is not grayed out, but when
you press it, it responds back:

Sorry, this option is not implemented yet!

But, in a later version, v0.970 that I have, *that* button is
grayed out. Can't see how v0.96 would have it. So, I'm confused

    Cheers,
