  1. I'm trying to author a DVD and the result using TMpegEnc and IfoEdit is that the video sometimes studders, though the audio is consistant. I remember someone saying that it was an issue with either TMpegEnc or IfoEdit, but I cannot remember which one was the problem. It had something to do with interlaced NTSC I think. I'll have to do some searching I guess, unless someone knows what I'm talking about (I wish I did!) I also have BBMpeg and DVD-Lab at my disposal, but TMpegEnc and IfoEdit seem the best route if only it wouldn't studder.

  2. Well, I found my old question. I've been outta the DVD authoring loop for awhile. It's...

I guess the problem is that IfoEdit has a well documented bug with NTSC DVD. Does anyone know if that problem was resolved? Have there been any updates to IfoEdit? Thanks!

  3. I had a problem before converting anime episodes to DVD-compliant files. When I compiled the DVD, the resulting video would have perfect sound, but the video would occasionally pause for a second or less.

My problem was apparently that I was using CBR instead of VBR (2 pass?) when converting from .avi to .m2v

  4. Hmm, I did encode the MPEG2s as CBR at 7000kbps. But CBR is DVD-complient. Am I missing something here?

  5. CBR is indeed DVD-compliant but maybe it depends on what your source video is? I'm not sure exactly. All I know is that it was the only thing I changed and it worked for me

Too bad it takes about twice as long to encode.

  6. Well, changing to VBR seems to have done the trick! Thanks wldncrzy14! That's odd that it would work fine for VBR but not CBR. Maybe 7000kbps is simply too high for CBR?

  7. If this is a problem caused by CBR (can't see how it can be..) then maybe you should use CQ instead of VBR.. almost as fast as CBR and just as good and sometimes better than VBR (in TMPGenc at least)
