  1. I've heard that people are using Shrink (deep analysis) to compress their movies and then that they are using IC8 to further the process (compression, burn, ?). I am not too sure what exactly they are doing but it sounded as though they are compressing it twice and then burning it giving them a better quality. My question's this: how can you do a deep analysis with Shrink with the WHOLE DVD and not just the main movie? And what's this process that people are using? Thanks for the help.

If you compress anything twice you will lose quality. Period. I dont know who is doing this but it is very foolish if they are looking for quality.

  3. Okay, thanks for the help. That's all I was wondering. How about encoding w/ CCE. Would you recommend that method?

I would only recommend cce if you want to encode 2 movies at 352x480/576 and put them onto one dvd or for avi capture encoding or re-encoding svcd to dvd compliancy and for svcd encoding, dvdshrink is all you need for one dvd movie backup.

That truely depends on a number of factors. I wouldn't use DVDShrink to encode a 3 hour plus movie onto a DVD. I'd use CCE pay the time and keep all the quality.

Slyone if your interested in trying CCE for DVDs start with dvd2svcd which features options for that now.

That goes without saying of how much you want on a dvd with encoding methods. Some people dont care and will put a 4 hour movie on one dvd with dvdshrink using the reauthor method,to each his own i say.
