  1. okay ive taken 5 svcd to dvdr using Author DVD Folders... i applied the Pan & Scan because i go over to a friends house to watch these tv shows on this pioneer sometimes and would like it to display correctly.....
but on my apex if i have it play on normal tv PS the whole frame jitters bad... see two images.... normal tv LB its the wrong size... wide screen its correct... no fittering and plays fine... but i have a NORMAL TV.... read below before repling at this point...

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I USED svcd2dvd to author dvd folder... normaly i goto elementry streams with pan & scan then take the elementry streams into dvd-lab. mainly because i like how the menu works ... can change the routing order of the buttons... use motion menus... mainly menu stuff..... and its worked fine....
using the elementry streams from svcd2dvd with pan & scan info applied ... i would put each show into its own movie... then do all the chapters and menu and links to the movies the compile.... and with the dvd this program produces i do not have to change anything for it to play correctly on my apex and a normal TV... setup for TV stays at normal PS....

what is dvd2svcd doing differently when it compiles the dvd? why am i getting jitters... is there a fix?

OHH YEAH ONLY REASON i used svcd2dvd to author was that when i remuxed or compiled one of the shows... in other programs... dvd-lab... tmpg.... the audio was desync... even following the vcd sugestions to reencode cause it to be desynced when demuxed and remuxed/compiled... of couse using the default svcd template instead of the vcd one....
but somehow svcd2dvd authoring it kept the sync perfect... no reencoding... ive done about 5 svcd3dvd using svcd from the same source and taking them to dvdlab after svcd2dvd demuxed and encoded audio... without any problems at all....

all the shows on the disc jitter in normal tv PS on the apex....

  2. you could try it without pan & scan and see what it does then.

  3. it should work but then it will not work on the pioneer!

its just crazy that the PS ES files with dvd-lab work fine in 4:3 PS (normal PS)
but the PS authored files with dvd2svcd needs 16:9 (wide)
so for that one disc i have to change it to wide then back to normal PS for all others!

  4. There are to much ways to make a dvd and some play on all and some play on a few and there isn't a guide that tells you which works (and will work) on all standalone dvd-players. Not every company follows all the dvd guidelines and some even make there own. Just like Internet Explorer and Netscape they don't always follow the W3C guidelines about internet page which results in different views of a page in both browsers.
