According to my previous questions about svcd and tmpgenc bitrate.I was told to make small test clips at different bitrates. If I understand correctly different dvd settop players may play a svcd different from one to another.I understand that as far as my dvd player goes I can get the svcd to look as good as it will played on it.How do you go about making a svcd for a customer and not being sure it will look good on there player? Is there a sure fire encoder out there that will look good at the same bitrate on all players?Does anyone out there do the svcd format in the buisness sense and what do they use?
thanks rikit

Just my opinion, but SVCD is not a great format for business use. A lot of DVD players can't handle it. But if your bitrate is within the SVCD specs, it should look the same on most any SVCD compatible player. Other SVCD functions, such as fast forwarding, zoom, chapters, etc., can be problems with different players. If you are looking for higher compatibility with CD video, VCD format is better, but a lesser video quality.
