I'm using VCDEasy to author my vcd's, and then I burn the image to cd in Nero. What I'm wondering is how to make a "Play All" feature on my menu? I know it is possible, but I'm just not sure how to do it. Do I have to edit the XML for my vcd? And if so, what program do I use to edit it? I looked for some guides on this subject, but I didn't find any. Can any one give me some pointers?
I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks....

If you haven't already read the VCDImager manuals/documentation and check out Vitualis' info site: http://www.michaeltam.com, do that 1st.
Then, it's a matter of using multiple [play-item] entries within a [playlist] entry.
There are probably other ways, but that one's quite straightforward.
HTH,
Scott -
I went through that site, and I didn't see anything about making a menu with a "Play All" feature. Is the general thinking that once a person reads through the site, that they will have enough of an understanding of VCD's to know exactly how and where to edit?
I haven't read through the entire site, but I've looked over a few pages. It looks like a great and very informative site, but I'm just wondering if it is neccessary to read it all, or is there a guide somewhere or something that tells just how to edit to make a play all feature?
I really appreciate the help.... -
I might have it figured out, but I don't know what program to use to edit the xml. Can anyone tell me? Please?
And once I have edited my xml, and have it the way I want it, how do I burn to cd? I'm new to this vcd menu stuff, so if these questions are stupid, I'm sorry, but once I get this figured out, I'll go away and quit asking questions....
Thanks so much for any help anyone can give.... -
There are some dedicated "well-formed XML" editors, but really, you can use any 'ole text editor (that's all it is).
I would heartily recommend reading, and re-reading those guides, to avoid coasters.
The general idea is:
Start with say, 3 clips. A, B, & C. All sequence items.
In VCDEasy / VCDImager, you'll have these 3 sequence items (which will become tracks), and say, 1 segment item which will be the main menu. This menu will have choices for A (Choice1), B (2), C(3), and A-B-C (4). Each of these will be "selection" items which refer to single-element playlist items, except for the last one. This playlist item will have all three sequence elements as "play items".
A good way to create this quickly is to make a standard 3-clip, 1-menu, VCD 2.0 w/PBC using VCDEasy. In the Menu interactivity page, make sure there are 4 selections: A, B, C and A again. You may have to override the default assignments. Then, generate your XML of this layout and exit VCDEasy, open your Text Editor and copy and paste the other 2 "play items" after the 1st play item listed within the 4th selection item.
Don't know how to burn XML?
Open VCDEasy again (or something similar) and go to tools. There should be a Create/Generate Bin & Cue tool. Generate the Bin & Cue. Then use either the accompanying Burn tool/CDRDAO, or burn them with Nero. If you don't know how to do Bin/Cue burning, just look to the left--there are guides for it.

exactly what part of the XML do i have to edit to do this?
how exactly do i do this?
are there any guides that say how to do a play all button?asdf -
iThinkYouBrokeIt,
I don't know if you'll even see this post, but I was able to figure out how to do a "Play All" button.
Cornucopia's instructions in this post, https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=153651 helped me a bit. I would give you detailed instructions, but unfortunetaly, our computer pretty much died, so we had to get a new one, and since getting this new computer, I haven't made any vcd's, so I don't have any xml's to look at to refer to at the moment.
Hopefully that post can help you a bit...
