  1. Is there any way of including subtitles with this so called faster method? I hate frameserving but as everyone says this is a fast method, I want to try it, I am so tired of flaskmpeg...
Also, I heard there are some problems with fake avi reading in CCE 2.62, if I have to use 2.5 what will I be missing? Is there a quality or speed difference?

First I have to say that I never worked with subtitels. But there are more questions..
I just started with MPEG2DEC and I can say, it is faster. I have got a 30-35% speed improvement.
Definitly it does not work with CCE 2.62.
Using v2.50 you wont miss anything. I worked with both and could not see any difference of speed, quality or whatever.
You can use Virtual Dub filters in Avisynth, hopefully subtitle filters as well. Check the Avisynth homepage.

  3. I've checked Avisynth site, but it seems that it only allows ocasional subtitles, not like in virtualdub.
So, am I stuck with Flaskmpeg or Virtualdub frameserving?

Anyone knows of a faster way to encode SVCD with subtitles?
I know there is a way of authoring SVCD with optional subtitles (can be turned on or off) but it seems that this only works on standalones and not all of them. I wanted a better solution, with subtitles in the movie itself, not selectable.

People say TMPEGEnc supports subtitles, how? Only through virtualdub frameserving, right? Anyway its dead slow

One method, that work with subtitles (I tested that few months ago) is FlaskMPEG 0.594-> Avisynth1.0(PremierePlugin028Beta37)->TMPGEnc/ CCE.
You may try that, I can't remember, how fast( slow) it is.
