HELP!! I purchased a Unit second hand with no manuals or documentation. It looks simular to the Dazzle models Hollywood Bridge or DVC100. It is all black with white text except for a gold dazzle logo. I has indicator lights on the upper front indicating power, ready and rec/play. Front inputs of video, s-video, audio Left/Right and 1394.
Rear Outputs of video, s-video, audio Left/Right, 1394 firewire cable and a 26 pin connection cable. the text near the bar code reads "Mojave A1 010728". I have no idea how this thing works. Do I only need is a firewire card for my computer? Anykind of documentation would be a great help. PLEASE HELP
Clay

I don't think the DVC100 was available with firewire. At least mine didn't have it. The DVC150 I believe was the one they added the IEEE 1394 interface. Can't tell you anything about the Hollywood Bridge though, I've never seen or used one.

I think "mojave" was the name of the hardware that was part of a Dell/Dazzle OEM deal. Dell bundled Dazzle capture hardware with some of their PCs as part of a "movie studio" package. I think the box is just a breakout box, that 26-pin connector is to hook it up to the PCI card. Without the card it's just a paperweight.
If you do a web search with terms like dell, movie studio, and mojave you might find enough information to verify that it's what you've got.A man without a woman is like a statue without pigeons. -

I believe The 80, 100, 200 and Fusion were USB 1.x, the 150 was USB 2.0, the Hollywood was Firewire.
There were other firewire units.
But if it is a Dazzle Hollywood, then just add a firewire card, connect the device to the firwire (connect the TV or VCR to the Front of the Dazzle device) and if you have XP you can use XP Movie Maker to capture (and any other SW to encode and author).
