Ok,

I've ben wanting to post my news since I figure out how to
get my DC10+ to cap at 640x480. My prev. caps were at
608x464. But, after tinering with my BIOS settings and
farting around with the S-Video thing, I was/am now abot
to cap at 640x480.

As to quality for both:

640x480 vs 608x464 = quality is only marginally better.
S-VIDEO vs RCA = quality is again, marginally better.

You really can't see much difference. At first I thought
that it was better quality, but then I reallized that the
settings (in numbers using VD) were reset to zero's.
Lukilly, I remembered to save those settings before I took
the plung to S-VIDEO. After plugging in those same valuse,
I got pretty much the same quality, except that when you
see writing, it looks slitely sharper. People and objects
are pretty much the same. So, people, please stop
dramatizing S-VIDEO's greater quality over RCA - they both
give the same quality (IMO) .

I don't know why people keep saying that S-VIDEO is MUCH
better quality. I say its just there imagination!

And before you try and ask, YES, I did disconnect the RCA
from the input and output. I've read elseware that having
these two (RCA and S-VIDEO) connected is not recommended.
But, since I have a switch box, I can switch between RCA and
S-VIDEO so I can compare quality very quickly!
Like I said, not really any difference.
But, since I have S-Video working (I found a 12' cable) and
connected to my satalette, may as well use it! So, I'm
using it as we speak!

I will have some sample clips for your quality approval
shortly. So, stay tuned - will post in another thred.

Thank you all for all your assistance in the past.
